China boasts a vast territory with complex natural conditions. In terms of farming, different regions have distinct requirements, especially for paddy fields and dry land. There are significant differences in agricultural technology requirements for cultivation. Therefore, plows are mainly divided into two categories: the southern paddy field plow series and the northern dryland share plow series. Within each series, different models are further categorized based on the soil specific resistance (soil resistance per unit of tillage cross-section), such as medium, heavy, or reinforced models.
According to the hitch method when the plow is matched with a tractor, the northern series of plows comes in three forms: traction, suspension, and semi-suspension. Due to the high maneuverability of the suspension unit, it is suitable for tilling on smaller plots. Therefore, the southern paddy field plow series currently only has one form, which is the suspension plow. The northern series of plows is further divided into two categories: medium-sized plows and heavy-duty plows. They are suitable for tilling depths ranging from 16 to 30 centimeters. The medium-sized plow is suitable for light and medium-textured soils with less surface residue (resistance of 0.4 to 0.7 kg/cm2). The plow is equipped with a BT30 (B-northern, T-plow body, 30-single plow body width of 30 centimeters) plow body, which can also be equipped with BT25 or BT35 plow bodies. It has good soil turning, soil crushing, and covering performance. The front-to-back distance between adjacent plow bodies is 500 and 600 millimeters respectively, and 700 millimeters when equipped with BT35, which is the standard spacing
